The legendary ghost thriller ‘The Woman in Black’, one of the world’s most successful plays will return to Dubai this September/October due to popular demand, presented by the regions award-winning producer Popular Productions.

The production will run at the Madinat Theatre, Souk Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai for a limited season from 26th September to 2nd October.

Now celebrating a record breaking 27th year in London’s West End ‘The Woman In Black’ is based on Susan Hill’s best-selling novel, and is respected internationally as one of the most effective plays ever to be written with over 7 million people having seen the play.

Adapted brilliantly for the stage by Stephen Mallatratt, it has been produced in over 40 countries and has thrilled audiences the world over with its heart-stopping story.

In 2012, came the release of the big screen version starring Harry Potter’s Daniel Radcliffe, which with its spectacular box office became the biggest selling UK horror movie of the last twenty years.

This critically acclaimed production that sold out runs in Dubai in 2009, 2012 and 2015 features a fantastic cast from London’s West End in a richly compelling, dramatic staging of this chilling story.

A lawyer obsessed with a curse that he believes has been cast over him and his family by the spectre of a ‘Woman in Black’ engages a sceptical young actor to help him tell his terrifying story and exorcise the fear that grips his soul.

It begins innocently enough, but as they reach further into his darkest memories the borders between make believe and reality begin to blur and the flesh creeps as the ‘Woman in Black’ reveals her terrible purpose.

The production is directed by John Payton with lighting by Paul Gould and Dan Creasey and set design by Cleo Pettitt.

It is produced by Popular Productions, the company behind some of the UAE’s most successful productions in recent times including Annie, The Wizard of Oz, Stephen King’s Misery featuring UK TV star Darren Day, the smash hit musical Oliver! and the award
winning production of The Sound of Music.
