Having journeyed from the sandy coastlines of Mexico and Portugal, The BPM Festival is set to make its Middle Eastern debut on Thursday February 1, touching down at Dubai super-venue, BASE.
Having diverted its gaze towards becoming one of the city’s top destinations for house music, following the launch of GRND CNTRL nights this year, BASE has partnered with the international electronic festival to bring some top acts to the city.
A monthly night will be hosted at the d3 club between now and April, with a rotating line-up of artists coming to town each month.
More than 400 DJs and artists have taken part in the ten-day long festival at Playa del Carmen in Mexico each year since its 2008 inception, before the event expanded out to Portugal in 2017 and will take in a one-day special event moving to Brazil this month, the UAE is set to host one of the world’s top dance festivals.
On Thursday February 1 Detroit-based techno hero Stacey Pullen and New Yorker Jesse Calosso will take to the stage, before Carlo Lio and Nathan Barato top the March listing on Thursday March 8, having headlined festivals and taken up residency at some of the world’s top clubs, including Fabric in London, Warun in Brazin, Amnesia and DC10 in Ibiza.
Finally, the Spin Doctor, AKA Rony Seikaly, will headline on Thursday April 5, the final residency date for The BPM Festival, for now at least.
